Web Standards for E-books — Joe Clark is always worth reading, but in this article he’s tackling the intersection of my two professions. Excellent stuff.
# 5 days agoThey get points off for staring the article with, “Since ancient times,” but if you need to hand someone an intro reading list for urban fantasy, you could do a lot worse than Library Journal’s list. My other quibble? I would have starred Bitten.
# 2 weeks agoNotes from New Sodom: The Kerspindle Kerfuffle — “For those of you who don’t know, the tiny autonomous archipelago of Åthorland lies off the coast of this fair nation of Art. Just a spattering of craggy islands, it is, each with little more than a stony croft inhabited by a wild-eyed Åthor, with only their herd of kittens for company and inspiration.”

Hmm. I’ve read all of John Ringo’s books but the Ghost series and I hadn’t really see him do wrong yet. Hell he has an entire female character devoted to the psychological effects of being raped in the There Will Be Dragon’s series. Makes me kinda weary of this reviewer. What are their credentials?
The review does say that this series is very different from his other work.
Follow-up: John Ringo thought it was a great review.
