You may call it entitlement. I’d rather call it “what people are willing to pay.”
You will never convince a majority of people that anything over 10 dollars is a reasonable amount to pay for a book that gives them no right to resell, loan, or move to another device (iPad to nook). Heck, I don’t think 10 dollars is a reasonable amount.
The publisher’s entire basis for wanting the higher prices is because they think ebook sales are lost hardcover sales. I have yet to see any evidence that this is the case.
